Registration Requirements for GM Certification & HQ Coach Certification
1. Complete Pre-learning Coursework- Pre-learning coursework is required for both certifications and can be found in the designated learning paths listed below.

- Registration closes 7 days before the session starts.
- All prerequisites (e.g., LearnUpon courses) must be completed before your registration can be confirmed.
- Registration closes one week before the session starts.
3. Confirm Your Registration- You will know you’re registered once the training title appears under "My Live Sessions" on your dashboard.
- To confirm, navigate to your dashboard and click on the “My Live Sessions” tab at the top.

- 4. Book travel
- Only book travel after you’ve completed the pre-learning coursework and are confirmed for your session (you’ll receive confirmation two weeks before the certification date).
Session Capacities:
- General Manager Certification: 20 participants max.
- HQ Coaches Certification: 10 participants max.
General Manager Certification Process
1. Switch to "Learning Paths"
- Enroll in the learning path titled "General Manager Onboarding & Training Path."
2. Complete the first 14 courses

- Once you’ve completed the first 14 courses, you’ll be ready to register for General Manager Certification at HQ.
3. Register for certification- In course 15 (How to Register for General Manager Training), you’ll be redirected to the KidStrong General Manager Certification Registration course. Here, you can select a session to attend at HQ.
- After registering, confirm your enrollment by checking the “My Live Sessions” tab on your dashboard.
- 4. Stay alert for Slack invite
- HQ will contact you via Slack 14 days before your training begins. Keep an eye out for an invitation to the Slack channel titled gm-certification-[session date] in the KidStrong Coach Network workspace.
HQ Coach Certification Process
1. Switch to learning paths
- AD or your General Manager will enroll you in the "Learning Path: HQ Coaches Certification."
2. Complete pre-learning

- Once enrolled, you’ll be prompted to complete the pre-learning modules.
- 3. Register for certification session
- After completing the pre-learning, you can register for the appropriate HQ Coaches Certification session.
- Confirm your registration by checking the “My Live Sessions” tab on your dashboard.
- 4. Confirm travel dates
- Before booking any travel for the HQ Coaches Certification, please check with your FBC to confirm your session details.

Developer Training Process: "KidStrong HQ Developer Training Part 2"
- 1. Enroll in the course
- Enroll in the "KidStrong HQ Developer Training Part 2" course.

- After completing the course, you’ll be eligible to register for the appropriate training session.
3. Register and stay updated- Once registered, HQ will reach out with any additional action items, if needed.
- Enroll in the "KidStrong HQ Developer Training Part 2" course.
Checklist to Apply for Area Trainer Certification
- Candidate:
- Be a Level 3 Coach
- Complete Coach Training course in LearnUpon
- Review the Practical & Field Training guide
- Train and evaluate 3 different coaches
- Complete at least 10 coach evaluations
- Area Developer:
- Observe the candidate train at least 3 different coaches
- Observe the candidate evaluate and give feedback to at least 3 different coaches
- Observe the candidate coach 6 different classes (2 from each age group)
- Walking-4 years x2
- 4-7 years x2
- 7-11 years x2
- Candidate: Complete Area Trainer Application
- Area Developer: Complete interview with HQ
- Candidate: Complete interview with HQ

Area Trainer Academy Application Steps
- Complete Level 1:
- Finish the Level 1 coursework.
- Pass the Level 1 point evaluation.
- Have your GM or AD submit Coach Level Up form.
- Pass the Level 1 exam.
Complete Level 2:
- Finish the Level 2 coursework.
- Pass the Level 2 point evaluation.
- Have your GM or AD submit Coach Level Up form.
- Pass the Level 2 exam.
Complete Level 3:
- Finish the Level 3 coursework.
- Submit the Level 3 Exam Form.
- Pass the Level 3 exam.
- After passing, you'll be enrolled in the Level 3 Evaluation Prep Course.
Level 3 Evaluation Prep Course:
- This course helps you prepare for the Level 3 Coach Evaluation.
- You'll also schedule your Level 3 Evaluation, which is done via Wyze cameras by the HQ TAC team.
Become a Level 3 Coach:
- Once you pass the Level 3 evaluation, you’ll officially become a Level 3 coach and are eligible to apply for the Area Trainer Certification.
- The HQ TAC team will email the Area Developer to determine if the AD is interested in supporting the Level 3 coach applying for the Area Trainer certification. If the Area Developer confirms they are supporting the candidate in the next steps, the TAC team will enroll the candidate in the application.
- To be eligible and have enough time to complete the pre-reqs for the Area Trainer academy, the coach MUST be a Level 3 coach at least 2 months before the Area Trainer Certification.
Apply for the Area Trainer Certification:
- Complete the Area Trainer application.
- Confirm completion of coach training coursework and practical requirements:
- Area Trainer Candidate:
- complete Coach Training course in LearnUpon
- Review the Practical & Field Training guide
- Train at least 3 coaches and complete at least 10 coach evaluations.
- Area Developer MUST observe the training sessions that are ran by the candidate. This allows the AD to identify the candidate’s strengths and opportunities for growth when it comes to training and mentoring others. This also helps the AD confirm that the candidate is following coach training standards and expectations.
- Training a coach means putting that coach through at least 3 hours of practical training, supporting them on and off the floor during their field training and completing their point coach evaluation. These coaches can be brand new to the center or may be coaches who need additional training after passing their initial point evaluation.
- If you are not a certified GM, these training sessions must be completed under the supervision of a certified GM.
- Train at least 3 coaches and complete at least 10 coach evaluations.
- Area Developer virtual interview - 6 weeks before the academy.
- This virtual interview will dive deeper into the candidate’s experience coaching KidStrong classes, training KidStrong coaches, building culture and community in center and leading or fostering a team.

- Area Trainer candidates will complete a virtual interview for the academy. Virtual interviews are scheduled 4-6 weeks before the Academy start date. The virtual interview consists of 3 parts:
- Basic Interview Questions (similar to the application)
- Giving Feedback
- Scenario Questions
- If you pass the interview, you'll be invited to attend the Area Trainer Academy.
- Area Trainer Candidate:
Final Steps: HQ will enroll you in any necessary pre-learning and provide next steps for the Certification.
